Wisdom Tooth Extraction at Wellness Dental Bronte

There comes a time for nearly everyone when the wisdom teeth must be removed in order to maintain a healthy, beautiful smile. Wisdom teeth are the final molars that appear in the mouth of adults and can start erupting as early as 16 years of age or as late as 25.

If you’re in need of wisdom teeth removal or suspect you will be soon, we’re proud to offer gentle solutions designed to make the experience easy and comfortable for patients of every age.

Why Do Wisdom Teeth Need to Be Removed?

There is often inadequate space in the mouth for these large teeth, which don’t appear until all other teeth have already erupted. This can cause complications including but not limited to:
Wisdom teeth impaction

  • Tooth impaction
  • Pain
  • Crowding of the teeth
  • Gum problems and decay
  • Swelling and pain in the face or mouth
  • Bad breath
  • Painful jaw joint
  • Repeated sore throat
  • Cysts
  • Infection

What to Expect

The best way to determine if your wisdom teeth need to be removed is to visit us for a consultation. During this time, we’ll examine your teeth and mouth. We’ll use our onside panoramic radiograph OPG machine to diagnose immediate issues and visualise the position of the wisdom teeth.

If we deem extraction is necessary, we’ll schedule a future appointment for you. We’re able to remove wisdom teeth all in one visit, and can do so under sedation or nitrous oxide so that you remain comfortable and relaxed the entire time.
